SCORING​

As long as the average mark from adjudicator’s falls within the above marking system of Silver, Platinum, Gold, High Gold or Supreme Gold all competitors will receive a medal/the award appropriate to their mark obtained.

In categories with 5 or more routines, we will announce 1st, 2nd and 3rd placements.

All top mark winners will be announced throughout the event!

MOST PROMISING DANCER

4 soloists from each age division (Junior & Senior) will be eligible by mark to dance off for the Most Promising Dancer Award in the Danceabition Finals. All Most Promising finalists will receive a sash along with an MDP scholarship.

The Most Promising Dancer Overall Winner in each age group will win an MDP scholarship and a trophy.

 

DANCEABITION FINALS

The 3 highest scoring Duo/Trios from all divisions will be eligible to dance off in the Danceabition Finals in each age group, 12 & under and 13 & over for their own Overall Winner. The winning duo/trio in each age group will receive a trophy and an MDP scholarship.

The highest scoring Open Division Group routines from each studio (1 per studio - up to 8 studios) in both the Junior & Senior age groups, will also dance off in the finals for an Overall Winner award. Second and Third place winners will also be announced! The winning groups will receive a trophy along with an MDP scholarship for their studio! Each studio will only be eligible once per category based on the highest mark achieved for their studios in the age group.

NOVICE, PRE-COMPETITIVE & INTERMEDIATE

The 3 highest scoring group routines in the Novice, Pre-Competitive and Intermediate Divisions will be eligible to dance off in the Danceabition Finals for their own top awards. 1 overall winner in each division will receive a trophy along with an MDP scholarship for their studio!

*Please note: Eligible routines for the Finals will vary for each event. This will depend on # of entries in each division in the competition.

ADJUDICATION VIDEOS

McKiel Video will be providing the adjudicator (s) comments via dropbox to each studio at the end of the event. 

It is our intention to have two adjudicators for DanceAbition, however where organizers determine it is necessary, we will have one adjudicator to judge various sections of the event.

​STUDIO EXCELLENCE AWARD

To qualify for this award, your studio must have a minimum of 30 routines entered with at least 10 of them being groups. 

The studio with the highest average score from their top 10 group routines will be awarded a "STUDIO EXCELLENCE" banner and a Visa gift card!

The runner up will be awarded a banner and a Visa gift card!
