• As long as the average mark from adjudicator’s falls within the above marking system of Silver, Platinum, Gold & High Gold, all competitors will receive a medal/the award appropriate to the mark obtained.
Please note: 1st, 2nd and 3rd placements in each category of 5 or more entries will be announced.
All top mark winners will be announced throughout the event!
MOST PROMISING DANCER
4 soloists from each age group, 12 & Under and 13 & Over will be eligible by mark to dance off for the Most Promising Dancer Award in the Danceabition Finals. All Most Promising finalists will receive a sash along with an MDP scholarship.
The Most Promising Dancer in each age group will win an MDP scholarship and a trophy.
The 3 highest scoring Duo/Trios from all divisions will be eligible to dance off in the Danceabition Finals in each age group, 12 & under and 13 & over for their own top award. The winning duo/trio in each age group will receive a trophy and an MDP scholarship.
The 8 highest scoring Group routines from each age group (12&Under and 13&Over) from the Open division will also dance off in the finals for the top Overall group award, as well as 1st & 2nd runners up. The winning groups will receive a trophy along with an MDP scholarship for their studio! (Each studio will only be eligible once per category based on the highest mark achieved for their studios in the age group.)
The 3 highest scoring group routines in the Novice, Pre-Competitive and Intermediate Divisions will be eligible to dance off in the Danceabition Finals for their own top awards. 1 overall winner in each division will receive a trophy along with an MDP scholarship for their studio!
• Adjudicators may also select up to 3 routines for the Wild card in the 12 & under and 13 & over categories. **Please Note: Wild Card picks depend on # of entries in the competition.
**Please note: Eligible routines for the Finals will vary for each event. This will depend on # of entries in each division in the competition.
McKiel Video will be providing the adjudicator (s) comments via dropbox to each studio at the end of the festival.
It is our intention to have two adjudicators for DanceAbition, however where organizers determine it is necessary, we will have one adjudicator to judge various sections of the event.
